MBA classrooms everywhere are full of people like you. There are tons of engineers and IT guys in the MBA ranks, and no one would ever think that your story is too different and too off-road for MBA. but you might have problems with it being too typical, especially if you are a male Indian working in IT. It's a well known fact that if you are that, you have to score higher in GMAT than other applicants and excel more in general, because there is an incredible number of people who fit this description who want to get into MBA, and MBA schools will accept only so many of them. also they are a smart bunch so they get high scores on GMAT so your competition is intense.
I'm an engineer too. also, 5 years of work experience is about average for MBA hopefuls.
as for supply chain and logistics, i don't know much about it but i do have the idea that its a quant field (dealing with a lot of math etc), so I think they are probably friendly towards people with quant backgrounds such as yourself. For example, MIT has the best SCM and logistics program in the world and of course MIT is all about quant. btw, you should check out their master's in SCM and logistics program, and other such programs, if you know for sure thats exactly what you want to do. these programs are not MBAs but are more specific and i guess less competitive.
