As many as and then we have compared to?

compared to/with ..together with better/more/less..than is always wrong...because it adds to redundancy...
so on basis this you can easily eliminate option A and D

Even I agree with lagomez ..... B

'there are as many X as there are Y' ..... we donot need 'compared to' . It's sort of redundant.

B is correct as the correct idiom is as many as
in a the structure as many as compared to is wordier and moreover compare is redundunt

"As...as" (not as..than) and "compare" convey the same meaning-->Redundant--> eliminate A, D,E
There are ........>3 times as many households#1....as there are .. household#2...--> //-->eliminate C

My ans is B

Babyif19 if there is a choice that cuts out the "there are", i ll pick that one. But, it is not the case here.

The reason A is wrong is because the sentence already has a comparison token as many that needs to completed with just another as - which is answer B.

A gives the sentence as many ... as compared to .. which makes it a wrong answer.

Hope this helps

A is wrong because it contains as compared to and because it doesn't contain verb are.

country x has as many households as households in country y.
In country x there are as many households as there are households in country y. ( verb in first and second part of comparision)

It should be B because the correct idiomatic usage here is "there are X as many as there are Y".

"As compared to" is an incorrect idiom. Choice A is out. "as...than" choice D and E are out.
"those" in choice C is unclear modifier. Choice B is correct.
