I agree B is the correct answer. I eyeballed this and some quick long division confirmed B for me.

nylon sterilization requires .34 energy used to manufacturer a single nylon instrument.
sterll sterilization requires .042 energy used to manufacturer a sinlge steele instrument.

However my trouble comes with the assumption that the energy costs and expenditure are the same for nylon and steele. The figures given are in percentages and therefore relative. It could take a lot more energy to produce steel than nylon. Given this possibility the .042 energy needed to sterilize the steel instrument may be a lot more than .34 needed for nylon sterlization. What information did you use to answer B with confindense. Please coorect my logic if it is not correct. Thanks.

(B) More energy was required for each complete sterilization of the nylon instruments than was required to manufacture the nylon instruments.

10 sterilization is 3.4 times the energy to manufacture it so 1 sterilization is .34 which clearly indicates less energy was required to sterilize than manufacture

so my ans is B
