CFA Level 3 Candidate [#permalink] New post 13 Jan 2012, 10:01
Hello everyone. As the title itself says I'm CFA Level 3 Candidate and I passed both Level 1 and 2 in first attempts that too in less than a year but unfortunately my grades in undergrads are not that good nor is my GMAT score. Now you would think someone who can pass CFA L1 and L2 in less than a year why he doesn't have good grades in undergrads? Well many reasons but the most important one is my undegrads major was in Management which is not really my strong point but Finance and Investments I love and always do good in them.

My BSc is from a top 10 British university. I'm planning to do MSc Finance from either Canada or Australia. But as I said earlier I'm not sure with my undergraduate grade if I will be able to get into a top business school. If I do MSc from an average Canadian university is it possible for an international student with a British degree and all 3 CFA exams passed to get in Investment Banking in Canada? I would have loved to go to America since CFA has biggest market there but Americans themselves cant get a job in their country I can only imagine how it must be like from a foreigner.

Thanks

hey man,

i'm studying for my CFA level 1's right now. I'm studying via Kaplan Scheweser notes. Seems to make a lot more sense than reading the e-books. Honestly, I don't see how you couldn't get into grad school if you have a full CFA designation. That shows a lot of committment and dedication. But then again, if you were a CFA holder why would you want to go to grad school :?

I finished level 3 in June, and wish I had did my MSF first. A good MSF will land you a good position, CFA III will not unless you get lucky with networking.
