I have an interest in Georgia Tech Evening MBA program(maybe summer admission)

brief about me:
25 year old.
B.A in mathematics.
3 years of work experience.
currently at 3 year of work experience (1 year supervisory experience).
Undergrad GPA 2.63 combined retention.
GMAT: havent taken, but goal is going to be high.

I went to GT website and they state the following:
average gmat: 624, with a range 550 to 720(80% of the class)
average gpa: 2.6 - 3.8 with a range of 3.2(mid 80%).

Obviously, I am well below the average in terms of GPA. However, I fall in the 'range.'

Based on this, am I competitive in getting in if I at least get an above average gmat?

When I look at the range, I get excited because I feel like I have a chance, but then again, I want to know what my chances are. Am I fair game? I mean, Georgia Tech is good school, so I think It sounds too good to be true for me.

I suspect the GPA range is affected by the number of students who did their undergrad at GT.

GT has a notoriously low GPA (the inverse of GPA inflation found in some schools). This is the GPA cut-off for academic honors:
1. Dean's List - 3.0 or higher
2. Cum Laude - 3.15 or higher
3. Magna cum Laude - 3.35 or higher
4. Summa cum Laude - 3.55 or higher
5. Dios cum Laude - 4.00

I would talk to some GT MBA alums to get a feel of your chances. Since you're based in ATL (I assume), I'm sure you'll be able to meet an alum easily.
