Chances of MSc Finance in UK [#permalink]

Hi!

With following profile, what are the chances of MSc Finance admit in UK universities (specially LBS, LSE, Warwick in that order)?

GMAT: 710 (Q49 V38 AWA 5)
IELTS: 8.0
Undergrad GPA: translates to 68% in Computer Science (from Pakistan)
Cleared CFA level 1 in first attempt (>70% marks in 10 out of 11 subject areas)
Registered to take CFA 2 in June 2011
Age: 26
Work experience: Software development for banks and financial analysis software
Community service: none
Trading/finance: Only at home: Experimented with algorithmic trading in depth.
Hobbies: Sunday league cricketer, local chess club player.

An MSc degree in Finance from LBS requires work experience, and you have that. Plus, your GMAT score is quite good. But admissions to both the LBS and LSE programs are extremely competitive. The acceptance rate at LSE is around 2.6 percent. And these schools attract the best students in the world, so keep that in mind while preparing your application. You will also need very strong (but not too strong!) recommendation letters. I don't know how to interpret your GPA, however. Is a 68 percent great, good, or average?

Your chances at Warwick will be higher than the other two.
