B is out due to the use of " being"
C is out coz " since ....so " is redundant, you need either "since" or "so" but not both.
D is out coz the use of " being" should be avoided.
"for his attempt at" in A is unidiomatic .
Using POE, I'm left with E.
Btw, OA is E as we discussed this SC before.

A. as in any month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as
B. as had been in any other month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as what
C. than there was in any other month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as that which
D. than in any month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as
E. than in any other month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as what

Notice "more" ....the right structure is " more .....than", thus eliminate A and B.
C : that and which both are used to begin a noun clause...using one is correct, but not for both.
D doesn't state clearly what is compared to what
E is the best.

A. is reflective, so that little polar ice melts during the summer; otherwise,
B. is so reflective that little of the polar ice melts during the summer; were it to do so,
C. so reflective that little polar ice melts during the summer, or else
D. reflective, so that little of the polar ice melts during the summer, or
E. reflects so that little of the polar ice melts during the summer; if it did

A and B repeat two " is" ( dunno if you made an error when underlying the right part or not ) ....easily eliminate them.
E is out coz we need an adjective after "is"
C is perfect with correct structure " so.....that"

1. E is the best choice. Others sound unidiomatic or wordy.
A is wrong in using 'he therefore' - Doesn't connect with the sentence

2. E is best. We need 'more money was removed in July than in any other month'

3. C. We need 'so reflective' to maintain parallelism. Btw B and C, i would Choose C
because 'were it' in B has no clear referent. But, a 'is' before 'reflective' would have been nice. Don't know why!

4. B. But D also appears to be correct. This is a controversial one, been discussed a lot of times before.

3. C sure
4. B OR E - most controversial SC ever. I have seen both to be correct in different OA. we have discussed this question on his forum several times but couldn't agree on the OA.

Regarding the fourth one, I think the reason it is not B because "the" five hundred million is missing. This 'the' means that only 500 million species have appeared. Without 'the' we are not sure whether it is 500 or more...

B. Nearly 99 percent of five hundred million different species of living creatures that appeared on Earth have vanished.

E. Of the five hundred million different species of living creatures that have appeared on Earth, nearly 99 percent have vanished.

I have chosen E because 'Have appeared' // 'Have Vanished' whereas in B it is 'appeared' and 'Have vanished'
