The cheetah seems to be headed for extinction because, resulting from intensive inbreeding generations ago, the species has so little genetic variation that it is extremely vulnerable to enviornmental change.


a) because, resulting from intensive inbreeding genrations ago,
b) because, as a result of intensive inbreeding genrations ago,
c) because they inbred intensively genrations ago so that
d) because there was intensive inbreeding generations ago and
e) as a result of their intensive inbreeding generations ago, and

Coz "as a result of " is a idiomtic phrase.

b) because, as a result of intensive inbreeding generations ago, - because, as a result redundant.
c) because they inbred intensively generations ago so that "so" is redundant.
d) because there was intensive inbreeding generations ago and
e) as a result of their intensive inbreeding generations ago, and


Here is how I thought

A, B & C - Eliminate - They have redundant words

left with D & E
E uses the correct idiom - as a result of X and Y

Hence E is the answer
