wl as well. can't believe we have to wait till May 22nd to get final decisions! oh the angst. is everyone submitting the 90 sec video?

I just got in off the WL (miracles do happen!), and I attribute a lot of it to my video. I would recommend doing everything possible to show you really want to be at Booth.

If you retake the GMAT increasing your score and get in off the waitlist, does the school consider you for scholarship with the new GMAT score? Please help me with this. Thanks a lot and congrats to all the admits.

I highly doubt it... I have been pondering about this issue myself, but it makes no sense...

I imagine that they consider for scholarships all students admitted before a certain date (while scholarship funds still exist). Admits are admits. That said, consideration and selection are two different things.

Waitlisters do not fret! I've met some R1'ers who are deciding between different schools and some have actually decided to not take Booth's offer (silly silly people ;) )

Submitted application to R3. Now fingers crossed.
However, one of my recommenders didn't manage and planning to submit tomorrow. How Booth treats late recommenders?

Also, I provided my TOEFL score but did not send score report yet. But, i've indicated that i graduated from university where language of instruction is English. I hope it is not an issue.

Congratulations who got in!!!

In some of the live chats, the ad com has indicated that they accept recommenders up to a week late.

Good luck!

Does any current student know when Booth starts its background checks and what third-party they use?

Does anyone have a perspective on how much of the Booth community is devoted to an immersive b-school experience vs. a commuter type situation? Given that folks live away from campus and spend less time there as a result (vs. say HBS) and the fact that there's no core curriculum or long-term cohorts, it seems like it's much easier for everyone to be doing their own thing with affiliation mostly through student groups. I'm concerned it won't be the type of experience you would have at Wharton or HBS or Kellogg where everyone is in the b-school bubble for two years (and to clarify, I want this to be a bubble of sorts for the time I'm there).

Before visiting I thought this was a bigger deal than I do now, and after talking with alums and students I actually really like the Booth setup. It doesn't feel like a commuter school -- some people do live further away, but the train from downtown is surprisingly easy and the Harper Center is set up so people want to spend the entire day there anyway. After visiting Wharton and talking with a good friend who is a 1st year there, for example, I don't see any difference between the communal environments of Wharton and Booth.

One underappreciated aspect of Booth's flexible class structure, aside from being able to immediately take classes that will give you a leg up in internships interviews, is that you'll be mixing more with 2nd years, who will in many cases be the ones referring you to and hiring you in firms during your 2nd year. For what it's worth, I've posed the "community" question to a lot of current Booth students and alums, and every one of them has looked at me like I'm an idiot -- despite not having cohorts, Booth seems to do a really good job of building class cohesion.

As a current 1st year Booth student I couldn't agree more, especially about the interaction between 1st and 2nd year students. I spend just as much time socializing with 2nd years as I do with other 1st year students.
Please remember that having to commute to school does not necessarily equate to being a commuter school.

When should Round 3's expect to hear about interviews? I know the deadline is April 24th but when do invites start going out?
