Hi.

I am a University of Chicago alum and am looking to rent out my condo in downtown Chicago near Michigan and Randolph. I know lots of Booth students live especially close in this area as it's convenient for public transit. If any incoming students are still looking for a place to rent for the next two years, please don't hesitate to message me

Thanks!

to follow up on the previous post, for rent is a 2 bed/2 bath unit in the Lakeshore East community. It's a 5 min walk from the Michigan/Randolph Metra. For pics, and more info contact me.

I'm starting to outline my budget and have a couple easy questions.
Are the $931 student life fee and $1,800 Administrative service fee charged all at once or split evenly between 3 quarters?

Thanks!

I need a sanity check. So who's having trouble finding room mates? I contacted a lot of people using the Booth room mate excel, but so far the response has been luke warm. Is this because it's too early or because everyone's paired up already?

I feel like a lot of people I would've liked to live with are either already paired up, or it's a mismatch in living style/amenities preferences/etc.

Have you tried talking to Cheetarah? She was looking for a roommate! And she is awesome.

No, I had no idea she was looking. I'll reach out to her, thanks for the tip! Did you attend the Admit Weekend? I understand many people decided on room mates then

Since I can't chime in on the roommate situation because I'll be rooming with my GF, I'll ask a different question - where is everyone looking to live? Has anyone signed a lease? I'm looking in the South Loop mostly since I'll be bringing 2 dogs and it seems more pet-friendly.

I'm doing MPP, just seems easiest. I'm on the list but have not signed on a specific unit yet.

do you guys know when the cost of attendance for next year will be sent out? My impression was that we should wait to do the FAFSA till that happens?

I did attend Admit Weekend, but I was undecided at that point. Quite a few folks I know did find roommates at Admit Weekend though. If things don't work out with Cheetarah, we can talk too, see if there's a good gelling there. Or find a three-bedroom with Cheetarah if all goes well??? A girl can dream! (I am a greedy person. )

dman25, I'm looking at Loop and South Loop, non-MPP probably. A LOT of people I know are looking at MPP b/c of the price + the proximity to 60% of other students.

Lol, I'd take that 3 bedroom with you girls over the MPP any day. I may be wrong but non MPP places seem more affordable when you have 3 people rooming.

Hi I posted earlier, and am a U of C alum looking to rent out my unit for the next 2 years. It's a great 2 bed 2 bath split floor plan unit right by the lake, walking distance to the Michigan/Randolph and the Metra to Hyde Park. Also in a complex where many Booth students live. Building has full amenities including gym, basketball court, pool, patio on the lake. Also includes facilities such as grocery store, valet parking and dry cleaning.

Contact me for more details. I can send you the craigslist ad
Please feel free to contact me for more details.

Hey everbody. A friend of mine, a current first year at Booth, is looking for a roommate in MPP starting in September. If you are interested, please send me a PM and I'll share his contact details. Here is his message:

Hey guys, I am looking for a roommate for a 2BHK in Millennium Park Plaza (MPP) from Sept 1st 2013. MPP is easily the best location to live in downtown. The train to Booth leaves from across the street and all the amenities are close by. The apartment is on the 20th floor and looks on to the Michigan Avenue. I am a first year student at Booth and have been living in this apartment for a year with a second year student. Happy to chat if you have any questions about the apartment, life at Booth, courses or even making the transition to business school.

Ideally I would have lived in MPP for all the reasons mentioned... but I missed out on the wait list. I'll be looking down in South Loop now. Though there is something to be said for being so close to Gleacher/everyone else, I think I'll be able to focus more by being a little further away from trouble
