I think so X as to Y is also a correct idiom, isn't it ?

Correct choice is so x that y. so...as to take is a wrong grammatical construction.

E for me too. All except C and E make an incorrect comparaison. C is incorrect because to have a lack is not correct. E is completely correct an idiomatic.
