Colleges to go for with GMAT score of 700 [#permalink] New post 19 Jan 2014, 06:31
Hi
I have a GMAT score of 700. Could anyone please assist me in selecting colleges I can apply to with this score?
Frankly, I was not expecting to score 700, so I have very less clue about the colleges that accept this score.
Thanks a lot in advance.

And how about a little personal background about yourself? Democratic & work experience play a huge role in MBA admission. If you are an Indian IT Male, even top 15 is not guaranteed with 700. If you are a Hispanic Liberal Arts Female, top 5 is reachable with 700.

A GMAT score of 700 is considered good and you can definitely apply to top schools with this score. That being said, just GMAT score is not enough to get into good schools. Other aspects of your profile such as GPA,work experience and extra-curriculars are equally important. So, I can give you a better profile evaluation and target schools if you give your complete profile. You also need to decide on a post-mba goal and target programs accordingly. You can find all the information you need about business schools here : http://www.interviewbay.com/blog/?s=business+schools

Good Luck!

Hi I have an average profile for a good MBA college.
PFB the details.

10th standard - 78.6%
12th Standart - 66%
B.Tech. (Engineering) - CGPA 6 (67% as per the conversion table)

Have 3.8 years of IT experience after engineering.
Have received accolades at workplace with the highlight being the Certificate of excellence received at annual awards
Have received various medals and trophies in football at University and Organizational level

Have done external certificate courses as well.

Kindly suggest how can I improve upon my profile, or which colleges should I apply for to stand a chance for admission.
I am not looking for top notch colleges I can apply for with this score, even average but decent colleges would also do.

If you don't have much idea which schools to apply to, the Ranking list under 'MBA programs' in this forum will give you some guidance (mind you only 'guidance'). You will have to do more research into each school to find your fit.

In my opinion as a guidance you have an outside chance to get into the 10 to 20th ranked schools, and a good chance to get into 21 to 50th.

700 is good enough if you are aiming for Top 15, also depending on your profile. If you want to get into H/S/W and/or Top 5 you may need to get a few more extra points to give yourself the best shot (although it's definitely not impossible to get in with that score, just need to be extraordinary in other places).
