Two stupid questions but just want to make sure i am not missing anything:
1. In the employment section, you should add no. of employees and revenues only if you are self-employed, correct? It says that in the online app but not in the print-out so just want to make sure.
2. I uploaded my transcript but it does not appear in the print-out? Is that standard.

Thank you,

Are there any J-Terms still waiting to hear back? I noticed on CBS's Facebook page that there are only about 126 people. The usual class size is much higher around 196ish.. Just curious!!

I am on waitlist! Did anyone on waitlist hear back in the past few days?

Yes to both questions. I just double checked my proof from when I submitted in September, the transcript does not show up.

I am still on the waitlist for J-term too. Haven't heard anything since being placed on the waitlist 10/25.

RD applicants: I'm not sure how long this has been up on my app status, but it says: "2013 Full Time Regular Decision Applications will go under review beginning November 15, 2012." Not December as indicated in the FAQ!
I guess that means we should be starting to hear about interviews quite soon!!
ED applicants: Does your status change when they're actually reviewing your app? I gathered from earlier posts that it says "Under review" when they're evaluating you?

They did that in the past years but not this year. Unfortunately your status will just say Submitted through the whole process, even after you get accepted. So you won't have any idea until you get the invitation to interview email.

Hello, and a post Thanksgiving good luck to all the Regular Decision applicants. Those who submitted early, your apps should be under review already and not too much longer until interview invites should start going out!

Wow... that is fast.

Well well well, those of us on the waitlist - or technically "deferred" applicants - are getting anxious as well... When are we going to get some love?

Hi everyone, I'm working on an app right now for Columbia, hope to get it submitted in the next week or so.

Any current students out there willing to chat with me for a few minutes about their experience so far? Phone/email or whatever is most convenient.

Hate to break it to you but you won't get some love for a while still. When they defer you from Early Decision to regular decision that means they are going to want to review a number of RD apps before they revisit your candidacy. If the first interview invite just went out then they are just scratching the surface of the RD applicant pool.

In my previous application I received an interview but was waitlisted then dinged.

Application Submitted: 10/6
Interview Invite: 11/18
Interview Feedback: 12/8
Waitlisted: 12/15
Dinged: 1/26

My guess is that the time difference between waitlist and ding (1.5 months) matters less and its the end date that's more important. Basically after they've had a good shot at reviewing their R1 apps. So I wouldn't expect anything until late January or early February.

Go on the Columbia website. They list many opportunities to chat with a Columbia student. Hermes Society is probably your best bet.

Hermes Society is great. Also look up any clubs you might want to join, they often have emails for the club officers listed online. They can really help you get some good details to include in the application process. I talked to people in the Hermes Society, Military in Business Association and Value Investing Program. I think that helped me focus my application much better than just looking on the website.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll do that.

Congrats on the acceptance by the way mappleby. I also have a fairly low gpa (3.2), did you talk about yours in the optional essay or do anything in particular to take the sting off the gpa?
