Does anyone have a list of progressions for the status updates?

Submitted, Under Review, etc.?

I just missed a call for an "unavailable" number and no voicemail. I know I only interviewed on Monday but I can't help but be freaking out that I just missed the ad comm call.

There is no progression this year. It just goes to submitted and you have the checklist. You will receive an email notifying you that you have been selected for an interview. You log-in and put in your location and they email you a list of names. Once you schedule the interview with an alumnus you put the email address and interview date into the system. Then after the interview you will get another email with a status update after they submit their input. From there it is waiting for a phone call for an admit or email for a ding.

If they can't reach you by phone they will eventually send a personal email to you to coordinate the phone call. I moved overseas and my listed home number is inactive, so I received a cryptic email asking me to confirm my contact information and/or call in the the admissions officer who emailed me... it was a fun phone call to make though!

Random question for those who have been accepted to the J-Term 2013:

Do you know when the orientation is? Do you know when classes start? I'm wondering because it's already mid-October and to find an apartment in the city and to complete all the other things that need to get done before classes start will take some time. I'm just curious and couldn't find that information on CBS's website.

Thats a very valid question. As an international student, I am actually wondering if I will be able to get a visa in time if I am offered admission, given the painful process that it can be !! My assumption, however, is that classes will start for J-Term applicants in early Jan, when the others return from the Winter break.

Hoping to hear some past or current applicants’ thoughts on this…

For some dumb reason I answered the “How will you be financing your MBA?” question with only what was known and definite at the time of application submission (ie no loans or scholarships). Of course this results in the total estimated cost of the programme not being financed fully. A completely foolish answer now that I think about it.

Well, do you think that this mistake will be a major drawback in the review process and I should send a follow up email to adcom to clarify/correct my answer?

Submitted 10/3 and no update since then...

I think they may be a little confused but ultimately this isn't a big part of your application. The admissions office told me that the question is really there to make sure you are thinking about it. I highly doubt it will be the difference between a ding and an admit.

I left mine blank. They don't care. See above poster -- it's just to make sure you are thinking about it.

Re: Columbia 2013 (CBS) - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
How many ambassadors should we contact at once? I contacted one person from the list waited for two days and contacted another person on the list. I have yet to hear. I am not sure if I should just undertake the search and contact all nine ambassadors at once?

My concern is if the ambassadors emailed me saying they are willing to meet and I appoint a date with another ambassador then it might not be polite, and what if the ambassador emailed to admissions complaining that I request for an appointment but ended up not taking it?

Please advice

I am concerned that I am losing time waiting to hear
