Guys one quick question as I am still grappling with the community part of the essay.... can the sub questions of Essay 1A and 1B be answered in one single continuous essay? Has anyone done this?

You technically can, but i suggest dividing it into 2 separate essays within the same word document. I did it that way so i can easily keep track of the word count, and it's very easy for adcom to see where one 1A ends and 1B begins.

I don't know that it is expressly forbidden but I would highly recommend AGAINST it. They are two separate questions with two separate word counts. Even though they are a part A and part B to the same question #1 I wouldn't just write it as one giant essay.

Submitted on 10/4/12 for rolling admissions, invited today. I doubt geography means much, but I know some people on here think it does, so I'll tell you I'm from the pacific NW.
Interviewed today. Questions were similar to those discussed elsewhere. No team conflict question.

Thanks for the update guys. It looks like adcom is just getting wrapped up with october RD applications. I submitted on November 30th, so I may not hear back until mid-January regarding an invite.

I love Columbia... Atleast they appear far more professional and quick to review and update than other schools (read: Sloan, LBS, Stan etc). The most professional definitely are HBS, Booth, etc... But Columbia is a close 2nd... I have seen people invited to interview within 2 weeks of submitting in some cases....
Anyways are there any internationals here?? What are you guys thinking of the lack of no-cosigner loans? In my country (India) educational loans are charged at ~13% interest rate, and the limit typically is ~$80k..... no wonder Columbia's applications dropped 20% this year...
Being in the financial capital of the world, it surprises me they cant get this loan in place... It is almost like they simply dont want internationals from third world countries

Just got my welcome packet in the mail with info on the Columbia Connect events. Also included a subway map and CBS thumb drive. Getting excited for school and it's still 9 months away.
