Hi. If I get accepted through Columbia ED and make a $6,000 deposit, does Columbia notify other schools (M7) that I am accepted to Columbia through ED?

Have you seen anyone who got into Columbia ED and applied to other schools in round "2"?

If Columbia notifies other schools, the chance of getting accepted at other schools will be negatively impacted.

Please let me know. Thank you!

Columbia shouldn't notify other schools, nor should it make a difference. The only thing is if you decide not to go, you do lose the money.

Thank you. So you mean Columbia "shouldn't" but it "could"?

It will make a difference if I were in a Tuck adcom because I now know that
1. this candidate is accepted to Columbia ED and paid $6K so there's lower chance for him to accept an offer from non-HBS/Stanford/Wharton schools.
2. this candidate is unethical or not committed and we do not want this person to join.

Well, I write shouldn't because I can't predict what the school might actually do in your case, buuuut keep in mind a few things
1. I have never seen this happen
2. I'm not sure how much this idea is linked to "ethics" at all. They are playing the business school game trying to get every advantage they can. Fair enough. And you play to get every advantage you can. Also fair. You lose the 6K, and that is the rules of the game, but beyond that would be very unlikely
3. I'm not sure how much other schools would care. They are after all, competitors.
