Columbia EMBA vs. Beantown Part-time [#permalink] New post 26 Jun 2012, 05:27
I have a few questions regarding Columbia EMBA vs a handful of second tier schools.

Profile:
27 years old
Business/Econ major from an Ivy (not Columbia)
~5 Years of work experience for a nationally recognized tech firm.
Currently reside in the Boston area.

I would like to continue working full time and also persue an MBA and have no immediate intention of switching careers or companies. In my eyes, I have 2 options, part time in the Boston area (BC, BU, or Babson... Harvard and MIT have no PT), or the weekend EMBA at Columbia (Amtrack is only 3.5 hours).
I am curious to see
1) How the community thinks the Boston schools stack up against CBS. Would it be worth the extra commute time to go to CBS.
2) Opionons of CBS EMBA vs a part time program. CBS EMBA seems to have a younger (avg 32 years), less 'executive' class profile than other EMBA programs (such as Wharton and MIT).
3) Any other suggestions.

Thanks
