Columbia MBA Question [#permalink] New post 26 Aug 2011, 09:11
To be honest, Columbia is tied for my first choice. Should I do early decision or regular decision? Would submitting a regular decision application before the early decision deadline look odd? How does doing RD reduce the probability of getting in?

I love value investing and currently work in it. Would focusing my value investing aspects in my essays be detrimental? How would you go about this. Obviously I would need to apply to the value investing program later, but some perspective would be very helpful.

I do not see why you should not apply in ED, unless you think you cannot finish your application by the 5th of October. I cannot comment if ED or RD is an advantage, but last year there was a rumour that Columbia had filled 60-70% of its class with ED applicants. But it seems like you like are interested in their program. I would say go ahead for ED if you are not sacrificing the quality of the application.
