i'd say don't worry about it too much...you really won't see more than at most, 3 questions on combinations/permutations. and there are multiple ways to solve the problems--it's not necessary to use the formulas and solve them the way the forum does.

As I worked through the OG, I could not help but notice that the combinations and permutations and probability questions appeared much later on and the density increased. My guess is that your time trying to learn these will be well spent.

I scored Q47 and didn't have any comb/permutation or probability questions. Maybe I'm just special :)

If you're short on time, a basic knowledge of these subjects should be sufficient to limp through the 0-2 questions that you might see on your exam. Number properties will be far more important for reaching your target score.

I got a 48 or 49 (how embarrassing, I already can't remember) and I don't recall having any stats questions. I had stats in college and did really well, but clearly nothing stuck because I gave up studying for these in my practice. I as a general rule don't memorize anything (I didn't study any formulas for GMAT), and without a formula in front of me, these made my head spin. So I decided to play the odds and if that had brought my score down, so be it.

They obviously didn't make a lasting impression, so either I didn't have one or it was really easy. If you can do the easy ones, I would recommend ditching the rest.

if you've mastered everything else, then work on these guys. otherwise, don't waste too much time. i don't like permutations and combinations so i gave myself a time limit on these (and any other questions that i'm weaker in). if i felt like i was spending too much time, i moved on. i think i guessed on maybe 4-5 questions in quant. i can't really remember, but i do remember just picking answers and moving on so i didn't waste time.
