Hey guys... since it is the season of hearing back and making life changes/moves, I thought I would pose a question...

What do you think you need computing wise to "get through" a typical 2yr FT MBA program.

Only a laptop?

iPad/Tablet and Desktop?

Desktop only?

Laptop and iPad/tablet?

Just Pen and Paper - 1970s style?

All of the above?

Would be interesting to hear how people are managing/are thinking of managing. I am planning on just iPad and desktop, though I suppose it will be hard to huddle around during group projects w/o a laptop. But honestly, wouldn't people crowd around one person's laptop who is "driving"? I was thinking the iPad can be used to dl content you have prepared and placed in your dropbox or whatever - and *can* do more complex things if you get a bluetooth keyboard or better input device.

Thoughts?

A small lightweight laptop would be the only item that is needed in my opinion...

However, I do have the following that you may wish to consider:

iPhone which will be used for when travelling etc
iPad which I am currently setting up as an e-reader and as my primary workshop tool
Small Laptop which I will use for word processing and can bring to workshops if necessary
Monitor which I have set up in my office to connect the laptop to
Corporate network access to support an work relating assignments

Sounds about right. The new ipad is so killer for reading! as crisp as a kindle!

I guess I have an excuse now to buy a ultrabook... mmmm...

If I see a good deal I would get myself an ultra book. Very light, portable and still functions like a traditional laptop. I enjoy tablets but I still need the utility of a keyboard and mouse to work tedious excel sheet model problems, working on word or structuring a powerpoint for a presentation.
