Concern with absolute value in Quant [#permalink]

Hi ,

I was going though one of the questions in Quant where it was asked id |x| < 1 ?

In the solution the question was framed as -1<x<1 ?

Can someone please clear how |x| < 1 became -1<x<1

The absolut value of any number is the positive version. For instance, the absolute value of -1 is 1 and the absolute value of 1 is 1. So for the absolute value of x to be less than 1, the number has to be between -1 and 1. aka -1<x<1
