I am having a real hard time staying consistent with my strategies in the verbal section. My main issue is the reading comp / critical reasoning setting me back on time so much that I start to panic a bit and I start to rush through the rest of the section (my final score is always all over the place never consistent like my quant). . I stop doing my splits on sentence correction and just start reading through answer choices instead and then that leads to rushing through CR prompts without writing anything down and not focusing on what’s premise or conclusion. Most cases I have 5 to 8 questions left with 10 or less minutes at the end and I have to pick battles. That paired with the fatigue going into the second leg makes me glaze over what I’m reading. Reading comp really makes / breaks my score.. When I read a passage I feel like I can’t remember enough from it and can’t make sense of my notes.
Maybe my game plan / strategies just aren't good enough in verbal. I think maybe I need am easier system to follow that way when I lose my path I can go back to it.
I primarily use Manhattan study material with the official guide along with the forums and other useful resources. I stopped doing LOADS of problems because I got overwhelmed by my error log
and started focusing more on a few problems at a time so that I can learn and fully understand the concepts (redo my error log
every day at the start of my sessions before new material). I supplement with flash cards and foundation studies when I can.
