Consulting Offer - Should I take it up?

Dear all,
I posted this topic since it is a weird situation I have been facing which I am sure some of us may have encountered and needed advice on how to proceed on this.
I am applying to Top US B-schools and am in the process of interviewing with a couple of them (some are already done). Now I have got this unique job opportunity, from one of the top 10 consulting firms with much better pay and a promotion. I do not want to compromise on the B-Schools I apply to and would want to re-apply if wait-listed/rejected.
However, I am not sure how the schools would take a job change at this point of time? Would they hold it against me?
I am already into a management consulting profile, however, its a local firm and getting a top 10 offer is a rare opportunity, not to mention it will definitely increase my chances of landing a job post MBA. Also, in case I am rejected this year (hope not, but considering it as a matter of fact, since I am an international and rejection rates are high), I may miss out on a year of splendid work opportunity and $$.
Would really appreciate your help on this. Especially those who have encountered such situations while evaluating applications or as prospective students.
Thanks!
