Hey All,

Just starting a topic to see who we should contact and nicely ask to see if they're willing to submit essays... let the discussion begin... I think I listed a bunch of names in the other forum, here it is again...

rhyme, GMAT_73, aaudetat, pelihu, lepium (no), naturallight

did Hjort, Praet, and Fig have essays?

So do we want to ask by PMing them? Or a post in B-schools section will be better so that they do not feel pressured?

Lets ask via PM. That way they wont feel uncomfortable saying NO. Or we can ask on this forum assuming they have access.

Lets not ask the question on the B-school application forum.

One person should contact them and take charge on this. Personally I wouldn't want 4 people contacting me asking for essays...we don't want to appear pushing about the whole thing.

Each one of us can take responsibility for a school. For instance, lepium has already said that he is not comfortable. So, let me try to reach out to hosam.

river, you can check with the MIT ambassador. mNeo can check with econgirl for wharton, kryzak can check with Pelihu for Darden and so on.

Let's keep track of this:

ncprasad:
- hosam : HBS : PM sent
- Harvard: lepium (reject)

riverripper:
- MIT

mNeo:
- Wharton: econgirl

kryzak:
- Darden: pelihu
- Haas: naturallight, one other name i can't remember

Post the ones you want to do and I'll update this post to reflect it. I'll also update with "accepts" and "rejects" by the admits.

Who wants to ask rhyme when he gets back?

did anyone even get into MIT last year...sure didn't seem like it. That and Tuck are both under represented.

Just contact people and if they got into multiple schools see what they are willing to post. Most people got accepted to more than one top school.

hosam got into a fairly good school that has some Veritas or something on its logo. not bad at all

I think TexasGuy got into MIT. Also there was one more person who got in. I dont remember the username. Not sure if they are around, but worth sending a PM.

yes, but please state their name here so we don't all contact the same people. I'm keeping track for now.

BTW, look at the Campus Ambassador area for some names...

Those of you who have already sent one or two PMs, can you please let me see one of them? I just want to ensure that my PMs are as gentle as yours :)

Here's mine:

Quote:
Dear X,

We have created a new forum in hopes of hosting admitted students' essays to help future GMATClubbers.

http://www.gmatclub.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=50969

We were wondering if you would be willing to post some of your essays for the schools you were admitted to in this forum to benefit all the classes in the future. We are still debating the methods of controlling access to this forum, as privacy is a strong concern for Praetorian and all of us. We also will ask that you remove all your personal info from the essays, except for the school in question and the essay topic.

I personally will be putting some of my essays in this area once (hopefully) I'm admitted to some schools in hopes of someone in the future classes finding them useful.

Again, we do NOT want to pressure you at all, and this is completely voluntary. If you feel uncomfortable about it, just let us know and we will never bring it up again. Either way, thank you again for all your contributions to the GMATClub and your help on all our application worries!

Best!
