Okie

Combustion is any time better word to convey the meaning

B or C

you can see "solar energy" and hence we must try to look for similar kind of construction

Adj-Noun to parallel with

"atmospheric CO2"

B

( also normally its a rule that we must not only condense few prepostional phrase especially related with Time

e.g Merger year is too short and "Year of the merger" is better

However, A wall of stone can be condensed to "A stone wall")

B.
increase must modify carbon dioxide so the modifier must be close.also just carbon dioxide would not cool the globe, increased carbon dioxide will. D/E are out.
C i think alters intent. "increasing" seems to suggest that the process of increase results in cool down, not the increase in carbon itself.
thirdly, resulting from combustion is concise than as a result of.
