(A) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide as a result of burning
(B) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide resulting from the combustion of
(C) increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere resulting from the combustion of
(D) carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that increase from burning
(E) atmospheric carbon dioxide that increased from burning

Can some one explain this? I thought option A followed idiom and right structure so chose A.

But answer is different..

and when to use idiom 'as a result of' and 'resulting from'?

(A) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide as a result of burning - "as a result of" is wrong here.
(B) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide resulting from the combustion of - "increased" and resulting, no continuity
(C) increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere resulting from the combustion of - this is correct
(D) carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that increase from burning - "that" followed with another "that"
(E) atmospheric carbon dioxide that increased from burning - "that" followed with another "that"

I think it is C. But I might still be wrong. What is the OA?

Somehow I knew C was wrong and B would be correct - the "increasing" changed the meaning of the sentence. I agree - good question.
