Contraty to the vies of those who oppose recent introduction of the law prohibiting smoking cigarettes, cigars, and pipes in restaurants and other public places, the prohibition is quite justified and long overdue. Those who object would do well to remember tha there is much lefislation in this country - for example, the law against jaywalking- which is an infrigement of civil liberties.

A) He is pointing out that the opponents rationalization of the argument leads to an unreasonable conclusion.

this is the best as author metions second to explain the opponent frist point
E) He demonstrates that the law against jaywalking applies in this country, as well as other democracies, in which civil liberties is paramount
.there is no demonstartion just a comment,,,,moreover there is no metion about other democarcies.

- This is clearly what the author is doing by citing the legislation as an exmple.
