I have admits from Cornell and Tepper (with 20% $).

I am torn between the two. Tepper attracts me with the Financial Engineering track but again I gather Cornell is a better brand name with better presence in Wall Street.

I am a comp science guy from India with 6 yrs of ex (spent a lot of time in Tokyo and some time in NY), last 3.5 yrs in IB technology working in developing algo trading models and stuff.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Okay, so these are two programs that I applied to and researched very heavily. I spent 3 days at Tepper and spoke to students, adcoms, and professors. While the school has a reputation as “quanty,” it is not very strong in the typical Wall Street roles. I got a sense that there would be a lot more leg-work needed to secure jobs in IB, Trading, IM roles. It still seems very possible to do, but Cornell seems to have a much stronger presence on Wall Street.

A 20% Scholly wouldn’t be enough to sway me towards CMU, if it was 75%-100% then maybe. Just my (slightly) biased opinion.

I will choose Cornell over Tepper. Better brand name and it is likely more availability of opportunities post MBA
