B and D make CorpX as common, that Corp Y seems like a subsidiary.
C - they has no referrent.
E - Of is ugly

A for me too. D compares X's revenue to Y - wrong. Essentially the sentence Should compare X to Y and spending on insurance to spending on salaries.

Choice A does the right comparison bewteen the percentage of the revenuw spent by the 2 corporations
