TARGETS: Stanford Wharton Harvard MIT UChicago
740 (49q,44v). Would an additional 30 points make a difference? I was expecting a higher quant score.
BS and MS (Computer Science) from top 5 US engineering school (completed in 4 years total). Each GPA north of 3.9
Minor in international economics.
18 months since graduation - when I send in my application, core technical role in industry powerhouse.
3 full time internships during college, which add up to another 7 months.
No proven managerial experience however since all these roles were technical, at least as far as managing people is concerned. I was a TA for a substantial number of students in college, which is my best example of demonstrated leadership.
Nothing mind blowing, but a few decent roles.
Other cool stuff:
I don't know what I want specifically just yet, but I will have a very clear idea when I have finished my essays.
Currently, I would have to go with general management. I also think that I would have an edge in finance.
Would have turned 24 by Fall07, Indian male.
My own assessment:
+ Strong academics
+ Reasonable GMAT
+ Strong technical background
- Sterotypical profile (- yet another Indian engineer)
- Lack of proven managerial experience
+ 6 years of college in 4 years (very fast learner)
+ Impressive technical scope of current job. Work touches millions of liv.., err, computers
+ Published research?
I will appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
