scott.. purchased your book recently and found it to be very insightful... great job. my question, im having a hard time narrowing schools down and may end up being in the shot gun camp that you described... but since im done with GMAT (730 47Q 42V), i have plenty of time and resources to tailor each essay for the specific school that im applying to by 2nd round deadlines. does anyone know for certain whether schools know exactly which other schools you are applying to? im just paranoid cos i need to be in school next year.
real quickily again, my background: 28 male, asian american, 3.8 GPA, 6 years exp in commercial banking/finance, plenty of leadership roles in work, community work through my church, two outstanding recommenders, and working on powerful essays. aim is to work in corporate finance... or private equity.. target schools: haas, wharton, kellogg, chicago, columbia, stern, marshall, anderson, yale, and cornell. what are my chances...
oh yeah one more question, how many different profile pools do you think programs evaluate you against... ie. will i be competing specifically with asians americans in commerical banking. do you think adcomms start first with ethnicity or industry.. i know they want their class to be as diverse as possible so it would make sense to compare on at least one of the major categories. thanks.. again, great job with the book.
