C...says that age is the governing factor ,which leads to the baldness rather than stressful urban life.
If stress were the cause of the baldness then it should have cropped up early at the early stage of life when males are more stressed.

I think it is B
C talks about men but not men with urban life
B says that men with urban life actually spend most of their time in non-urban areas, so baldness is not due to urban life

Hi AimHigher,B says that people in large cities stay in their city only...so isnt that the same as sating as urban life?

Sorry misread it
Still C is out for the reason I have
B makes sense of the following reason
B says most men are born & live in cities in order to live near their families
B doesn't say anything about stress in urban life but says about hereditary
Hence weakens new theory

Clearly C) it is.
A) too weak and doesn't prove anything unless an assumption is made about the usage pattern of drugs in cities and outside cities
B) This simply says that most men who were born in a city live their entire life in the same city.
This is irrelevant to the new theory that states stressful urban life style is the cause of baldness. This doesn't provide alternative explanation for why there is a discrepancy in the degree of baldness in the cities and outside cities.
C) directly attacks the new theory by stating that it is not stressful life style that is causing the baldness, so something else should be causing this.
D) this actually strengthens the new theory rather than weakening it
E) this actually weakens the current theory that heredity is the cause of baldness there by indirectly strengthening the new theory

Agree with you apache.
Argument says that X is causing b (baldness)
C says that it is actually Z that is causing b, hence weakening the argument.
So , will go for "C"

Stress causes baldness.
C: Weakens
because people get bald when they are leading a restful life

baldness is caused by external factors-urban stress
not heredity
evidence - 2 times common in males that live in large cities
a) Neither - argument is about how baldness is caused by external factors
having drugs to limit does not weaken arg
b) Strengthens - being born in large cities and spending entire lives in those cities strengthens argument that urban life causes baldness
c) Weakens but need assumptions - the observation of baldness at age 55 with no reference to urban stress causing it. The part of leading a restful life is a subsequent action not a cause.
d) Strengthens - men living in small cities are least likely to be bald
e) Strengthens - if bald people do not marry/reproduce this is consistent with argument saying baldness is not hereditary
C it is

C is not the answer because we are not sure how stress can affect baldness. Men who lead stressful life, turned to restful life when they are 55, does not mean that they can avoid effects of stress and escape baldness. It is possible that they facing stress when they were young, could have caused their baldness in the old age.

B is the only answer that indirectly refers to genetics is the main reason of bladness, hence weakening the new theory that external factors cause bladness.
Men born in large cities, who were already genetically determined to be bald, return to their place of birth in the large city. Since the new theory says other external factors cause baldness, B refutes that. I don't know if that makes sense.
I chose C also.
