CR - Finding assumptions [#permalink] New post 02 Mar 2009, 13:39

Question Stats:

0% (00:00) correct 0% (00:00) wrong based on 0 sessions
I wanted to ask a question regarding CR. I just finished doing the questions regarding assumptions from OG and my hit rate was a pathetic 58% (16/28). Needless to say, my confidence is very low and I was really feeling down after doing CR. I just end up sometimes thinking on a tangential line and mark the wrong answer right. Even on reading the explanation, I end up telling myself, “Well that is fine, but there is not much wrong with my answer.” Just a little frustrated. Any tips suggestions regarding CR and improving CR will be very helpful.

On CR, your performance also depends on your state of mind at the time of the test. So, I wouldn't stress out too much.

On your future tests, every sentence you read, keep asking yourself "why was this sentence written?", "how does this relate to the rest of the question stem?".
Once you read the stem identify conclusion and ask yourself how the author arrived at the conclusion, especially the assumption(s) he had to make along the way.

The idea is that even before you look at the answer choices you have some idea how the correct asnwer should look like.
