Google Inc made a major change to its powerful search engine in order to reduce the appearance of what it calls "low- quality" websites in search results.
The move comes after months of criticism from a few technology industry insiders and and acknowledgement by Google last year that it "can and should" do better to beat back sites that game its system to rise up in search engines by offers users little value.
This was an inference question.
The correct answer choice was:
Low quality websites do not add much value to users.
While I agree that the above can be inferred, I also felt another answer choice could be inferred.
The answer choice was, "Some low- quality sites that are able to game the site today will not be able to game the system in future once the major change is executed."
According to the official explanation this answer choice can't be inferred for sure as it will only be true if Google implements these changes correctly. But the argument starts off by saying that Google has implemented these changes, so doesn't that imply that some websites will not be able to game the site in future?
