For any of you snowboard big air freaks, try checking out this 100+ foot heli drop by Mike Basich up in the Alaskan Rockies. It simply does`t get any more hairball than this... looks like it was a nice soft powdery landing! BTW: He walked away from the drop uninjured after he rode to the base of the mountain. I`ll try to get the video link for y`all.

Here's a couple of big air shots from the Alaskan Rockies backcountry. We have similiar mountains in my hometown, just not quite as much powder and vertical drop.

Triple backflip with a poor landing... If this guy had the nads to launch off the Vail super kicker he might be able to pull off five complete rotations.

wow.... Matt... so sorry I didn't see it before... Just mezmorized by these boarders... it's freaking steep and they make it look so easy! Amazing!!!

Yes, my skies are ready whenever I am... no snow in the Sierra yet though... I better finish GMAT crap before I can ski free as a bird

btw, do you know who is signing in the clip in the last 3-4 min?

Not sure who is singing in that clip. Been tracking global snow conditions between CATs with onthesnow.com and noticed that Summit County Colorado (my hometown) has already opened Brekenridge, Arapahoe Valley, Copper Mountain, Keystone and Wolf Creek.

Don't worry, Kirkwood and Heavenly will be next :-D Hokkaido and Kamchatka, Russia just got their first dump two weeks ago. Let it snow, let snow, let it snow....

During last month's visit to Washington and Utah, I got a chance to drop into my hometown and do some snowboarding with my brother and sister. We are know as the "three hell raisers" on our local mountain. Attached a few pics of the Colorado Rockies below for you fellow powder junkies. :-D
