criteria for getting into ISB [#permalink]

Hi All,
Gave my gmat today and got only 640(V-32/Q-47). Although right now I only have 2 years of work ex, but want to try for ISB after 3 years. Do I stand any chance?

As per statistics in ISB site, Only 5% of the people are below 650 score.
Your chances are better if your score is around 700. I would recommend 700+ as ISB is gaining reputation after the ranking in top 20. As you are aiming to join in 3 years, it will be even tougher to get in. I would recommend improving your score by another 10% .

Hi,
i have 2 years of experience and i am aiming for ISB,if i get 700+ score thn wht do u think are chances for to get in.......

For ISB the 80% GMAT score distribution is 680-760 with average being 716. At the sametime ISB has admitted applicants with score as low as 600. The problem is usually with the most typical pool - IT Indian Males. If you are from this pool, you surely should target around 720. A good gmat score will keep you competitive  . Otherwise anything around 700 (+-20) is pretty good. Having said that, ISB loves adding diversification. So if you are from a job background which is quite unique, a lower score would also work. With the current score of 640, you'll need to have something extra-ordinary in your application and must have very strong essays. as u said u need to 've a different profile so lemme tell u smthng abt me.....
i did my grad in biotech,thn MS in geoinformatics......
wht do u thnk abt ths.....
as i saw few blogs ,n observed tht u've appeared fr ISB n 've the experience....its really cool........
so may i knw r u in ISB or wht?
i really wana talk to u for seeking ur help,hope u dn mind
