Critical Reasoning - Hypothesise ? [#permalink] New post 24 Nov 2011, 10:57
Hi,

A common observation which i find in GMAT CR answer choices is that,

1. If at all an example of similar kind happened in a different scenario, or some previous instances reflecting some kind of similar scenarios then the answer choice is always wrong.

Initially, i solved them and found them to be incorrect and after doing lot of other problems, i kind of fixed in this way that whenever i see answer choices of this sort, i just skip them.

2. Whenever a causal argument is present, lets say A caused B and if it is an assumption question the first thing i do is to skim the answer choices as fast as i can and find if there is an answer choice that states B doesn't cause A. And most times my search yields this sort of answer and i straight away choose the answer and it is even correct.

So can i hypothesize these two or there are just a phenomenon with logical holes which can be weakened. Am not sure if my premises are strong enough to support my conclusion. Lol :p
