I am currently working in a family business for last 2 years.
Prior to that I have had worked in a MNC (for which I have all relevant records & documents).
My query is that my business accounts are spread over 2 different company names because our business is new and so we went for most convenient accounting procedure. Although we intend to make sure that we regularize all the LEGAL accounts within a year, I am not sure what company name should I show on my resume or application.
Officially/Legally, I do not hold any position on either company but I am heading the firm. I started drawing cash salary since last 6 months.
My confusion is how to talk about my current business given the complexity in terms of official documents & accounts. As far as we are concerned & day-to-day operations are concerned, we consider it as one single company.
I am not sure what to mention in POST. I am a director ( after all it is my family business) but not officially i.e. not on papers. But, I work in the capacity of a director.

If I understand your question correctly, my suggestion is to give both names of your company on your resume, using the dba (doing business as) designation. Then choose one to use in your essays.
