no brainer... b/w A and C due to "less" seats is wrong... we can count seats, so must use "fewer"

A is more concise and clear, so I pick it

Seats are countable...
therefore "fewer" should be used instead of "lesser".

Between A & C, A is concise. No need for "that had" in C.

Answer: A

Splendid analysis U2 lovergirl. :-D

OA is A. 'Fewer' answers the question, "How many?" (fans, balls, hot dogs) and 'less' answers the question, "How much?" (soda, dirt, salt). This eliminates answer choices B, D, and E. Answer choice C is unnecessarily wordy and introduces temporal ambiguity.
