I did wear a suit - and I think that pretty much par for the course at any MBA interview or school visit.

I did not call ahead - you need to sign up on their website for the interview and for the class visit. However, I did show up early and they let me sit in on another class so I got to see 2.

As far as the interview - it really is the broad "tell me about yourself" and you control the show. If you talk about one subject for too long or fail to bring up something they need to know - they will lead in with a question. But really, I just said whatever came to mind and tried to relate to the person sitting across from me. It was pretty much how I run my interviews at work and I think its much better then getting a list of standard questions. At the same time it is hard to control such a lengthy interview but if you have already done a couple you will do fine here.

Oasis,

Great story there - I do hope you make it to Darden. When I read all these posts, I can't help feel a little miffed about not having tried to do this before - and now I just don't fit into 2 year MBA courses anymore.

About institute reputation going down - I believe once a certain reputation is gained (especially institutions), it takes many, many years to change perception quickly. Darden is a good name and I think it will stay so for many years to come unless something really weird happens.

While I can't be sure about where I go, it's for sure that some of the GMATClubbers here are definitely headed for great places, and I'm waiting to hear their admit stories!
