Does anyone know of any instances where Darden has not interviewed and accepted an applicant? I've done several Darden events including local alumni events as well as the open house, but I have not been invited for an interview. On top of this I was able to get an answer from admissions if my app was included for Round 1 review as one of my reviewers submitted a bit late.

But long story, short, I don't think whether or not they have been contacted would mean anything at this stage in the game.

Answer: You cannot be placed on the waitlist without an interview. http://blogs.darden.virginia.edu/admissions/2012/12/05/admissions-qa-application-status-waitlist-and-general-admissions-topics/

I was on that chat that Krudget mentioned. I was also on the chat today and I think they are pretty close to being done with interview invites. So long Darden, it's been a fun ride.

Is it wrong for me to assume that Darden places less weight on the essays as compared to numbers and resume? I'm saying this because theres only 1 essay (which does not address career goals) and no optional essay option.

There is only one "essay", however if you go through the application online, there are 2 other text boxes stuck in there for "short answer" questions - one is about your contribution to your learning team and the other is about your career goals. There is also a short answer text box for "additional info" at the end (optional essay)

While there aren't many opportunities coursework-wise, the health care club seems fantastic and Philippe Sommer's Bio-Innovation course seems really neat. While it's not as established healthcare-wise as Wharton or Fuqua, and not pushing healthcare as much as up-and-coming Owen or Kenan-Flagler, there are certainly the opportunities at Darden. I've reached out to a bunch of people at Darden regarding this, and they still match people with careers at terrific companies in the health care sector. Some of the folks on that site would be a great start to ask about specifics.

Previous years scholarship info has been mentioned only in the acceptance letter that you get in the mail. I'm not sure if it's the same this year though. Best of luck to everyone!! The wait is so hard right now.

Okay so which jerk in the Admissions Office thought today would be a good day to send out an email about global opportunities at Darden? Did they not know I would have a heart attack when I saw a Darden email in my inbox?!
