Dartmouth Interview / Class Visit [#permalink] New post 06 Nov 2006, 15:59
Went to Dartmouth today. Really nice interview with a second year. Very relaxed but at the same time very strong on substance. She definately wanted content to be sure and she certainly got it from me but didn't at the same time try to mess with me or psyche me out as other interviewers had. It was a very pleasant experience and I could tell she was incredibly impressed with me. The community is really nice at Tuck as well... small, collegial, and generally cool. Some of them don't like being in Hanover NH, but being from NH myself that is not an issue at all for me. If you are applying to Tuck the directory of admissions recommends that your essays be writen with memorable stories/examples and that your recs also be that way. She was in MBA admitting for years (only Tuck for the last 14 months) and said when she gets a stack of essays the only ones that stick out are those that contain memorable stories. Thats how I wrote all of mine to begin with and I certainly hope everyone does, but if you didn't... certainly think about it. But anyhow... Just so ya know... Tuck is cool stuff! I'll be applying in the next few weeks.

Where I live in S. NH it isn't soo bad... but up at Dartmouth definately cold and snowy. Some of the people there lived at higher elevations outside of Hanover and already have had 1.5" of snow. Some there were not to happy about the rural and cold nature of Hanover. If you like nature and don't need to be in a city to be happy though you will be happy. Everything on campus and on campus housing is connected in tunnels... so theoretically you don't ever have to go out in the winter.

Tour guide said... "there are stories of some not going outside for a month at a time"

I joked to the tour group... "but you really should go outside at least once a month"
