Data Sufficiancy Doubt!! Please clarify

Hi ,

In a DS question if we get one particular answer from Statement (a) and another answer in Statement (b) . Which choice should i go for ?

Either D or should it be E(since i am not geting same answer ) ???

Example :

If n is an integer, then n is divisible by how many positive
integers?
(1) n and 34 are divisible by the same number of positive
numbers.
(2) n is the product of 2 and an odd prime number.

Source - Jeff set

Here (1) would give me 5 factors
(2) would give me 4.

I am able to determine using both statements seperately but answer is diffrent.

The answer given in the source is D.But i wanted to clarify.

Please help !!

answer should be D. I think we wrongly calculated the number of factors that N have.

From statement 1, We know that N and 34 have same number of factors .So factors of 34 are 17,2,34,1. so total we have 4 factors.

From statement 2, We know that N is the product of 2 and a odd prime number. for ex: 2*3=6. Its factors are 2,3,6,1. Total 4 factors.
2*5=10. Factors are 2,5,10,1. Total 4 factors

so the answer is D
