I just made an interesting post in a thread called something like "I got an 800" and find out that it was delected.
I believe this is very unprofessional and I have no intentions of being a member here anymore (as opposed to what I stated on my post).
Anyway, I pretty much just said that it was too bad to envy an 800 score, and call someone a loser based solely on that (what's next, calling someone a loser because he is better on the job than you?).
I would like to add that I read some of the original poster (the 800 guy) posts and I understood where people were coming from (criticizing him and not all good test takers). Unfortunately, the censors here seems to have a problem when dealing with different opinions, so I could not even restate my original and, by the way, very polite (why delete it then?) post.
Anyway, good luck with your lives...

Sorry Newbie, I have never seen that as an intentional part on the way of ops (or rather op since a single individual has been administrating the site voluntarily), other than when the posts were highly objectionable (And I don't think it has happened more than 2-3 times in the last one year that I have been around).
Yes, I have faced problems 2-3 times when the post that I had made was wiped off !!. But when I reposted the same stuff, it came after one try. Sometimes the handle (nickname ) is not recognized and changed to Guest. Net, I guess the software may have some quirks but IMHO this forum is probably the best bet for genuine advice and no individual is behind this deletion.
Please repost whatever you had. And you will get responses from well meaning individuals who are trying to battle the GMAT. Regarding the 800 guy, this Club believes that the Post was a fake. Period. Your opinion is welcome and I as well as others will respond to it.

I am very sorry to hear that! The goal of this site has never been to edit or push an opinion, rather to provide grounds for cooperation and help. I have personally deleted 3 posts off this site during the last year; all were related to posting real gmat questions from the official test - GMAC is very serious about it and two times they pointed it out to me.
I will find out with Praetorian; he is the only other person with enough rights to kill posts I believe or do we have a mysterious hacker who selectively deletes posts?

I am glad I came back (as you can see). I believe its perfectly possible that the deletion was due to some fail on the system, now looking calmly at the situation and specially after your kind and thoughtful explanations.
It is just that, at the time, I felt a little ripped off when my post simply disappeared after I have disagreed with the majority here. I rushed to a conclusion that I now realize might be a wrong one.
Anyway, nice to meet you guys and I plan to get back here from time to time( as you can probably tell, my english needs improvement and forums are a nice way to seek it).

just out of curiosity .. where is the post of the '800 guy'? I cannot seem to locate it. Would be an interesting read if it indeed a lie.

I looked for it immediately (I do move topics around if they don't fit the section, but I usually leave a link to it in the original forum and it has a "MOVED" label).
I have searched for the topic, trust me  , before posting, but nothing. I have tried to use the date.

Thanks Paul .. I looked up that post .. but in there nikerun21 was talking just hypothetically about the effects of an 800 score .. is that the same post? just wanted to read about an 800 experience ..
bb .. no big deal if you cannot find it .. just wanted to see how people can conjure up a fake 800 score..

Yes nikerun21 had made that very silly post and has now deleted the post. One can delete one's own post. I very clearly remember his proclaiming an 800 score and since the club members had never seen him in action, only making snide remarks, of course there was instant rebuttal. His latest post (requesting feedback on Kaplan 2004-2005 book) is proof enough that he had made the post incorrectly. Probably - after my post , he will try to delete his latest post also - so I am giving it below.

The Club is not averse to an 800 score, however, this is not a place where scores matter ! What matters is whether you are learning yourself and helping others reach the highest score they can - through practice, advice and sharing of own experiences. There are many people proclaiming 800 on bw forums - and some even claiming 52 on quant (!!).
