DEMORALIZED....PLZ SOMEONE HELP TO BOOST ME UP [#permalink] New post 24 Jun 2013, 21:55
I have started practicing for GMAT for the past few days. Sat for my first practice CAT test in GMATprep and scored only 460 without answering the integrated reasoning section. Is it too bad a start? How can I improve my condition and score a 700+ in actual exam in a 3 months prep? Mind it, I'm a full time working person. Do I have any hope? My heart seemed to have crashed...:(

Hello Naba,

Dont lose heart. You should verify if its your actual level.
You should retake any of the free tests available. take MGMAT.

And access whether you gave it your best or were u in guessing mode.
Get back to me after doing this. See if you can get 550+ this time.

That is a bad start.

700's do not get delivered on a silver platter. It takes hard work and dedication. Although your score is relatively low, you should not let it bring you down. You should use that score as a motivational tool to boost your score higher.

Okay, you have your starting point. This is a difficult test that requires thinking that we are not used to. I find that especially true for DS questions. Follow Bunuel for Quant questions. As far as Verbal a recent post commented on the fact that you can now expect to see 4 or even 5 RC questions. That the reading stem is shorter, but denser.
