Hi Guys,
I took the GMAT exam on Dec10 of last year after about 2 months of study.
A month before my test, I couldn't prepare for the test at all as I fell sick.
The seizures were very disconcerting. I finally took the test on Dec10 and scored a paltry 610(Q44 V 30). My practice scores in GMAT prep and other
mock tests were around 640/650. I thought that math and SC were my strong points. reading comprehension and critical reasoning were always my weak areas.
On the day of the test, I had an upset stomach and loose motions. I had to visit the restroom 3 times during the test. The math portion started out alright, but started getting tougher and tougher. Some of the DS Geometry problems were too tough and time consuming. I had to guess the last 3/4 questions.
The verbal started with very cryptic SC. The SC's were long and confusing.
Got a small reading comprehension around the 7th question. My timing was so much off in the verbal section that I had to randomly guess the last `15 questions. The fact that I read very slowly only made things worse.
I thought my quant went well and verbal was a disaster. I was only expecting a score in the 500's but ended up with a 610. I thought SC and math were my strengths but they actually turned out to be disastrous for me. I got a 5.0 in the AWA section with no prior preparation at all.
I am planning to restart my GMAT preparation. I need solid advise on what study material to follow, how to improve my speed etc.
I would really appreciate a prompt response. I desperately want a score of 700+ as I wish to apply to top MBA programs.
