Recent election - present perfect. so "(C) has changed little" fits to this tense.

Despite the recent election of a woman to the office of prime minister, the status of women in Pakistan has changed little in the last century.

So, even though in the recent election (Let's say as recent as of today) a woman was appointed - their status has changed little in the last century

It looks like it completely changes the meaning

I go with A.

Prefer "How" for "The way" on GMAT.Eliminate E

Comparison is between "Pak women status -today 05.12" and "PAK women status-1908"

For current, we use present and since there is only one ref point in the past, simple past tense is just ok

Eliminate C, D

In B, change takes noun form instead of verb

Choose A

I dont think A is a correct way to say a comparison.

C is the best, clear, and shortest.

little is also an adverb.

I agree with sodenso. Answer should be C.

I' ll go with C. There are some things that we need to see here and that is sometimes GMAC asks us to select the best alternative, it may or may nt be the correct one. The best way this sentence could be completed is by saying "has changed little from what it was in last century". But (c) is also correct, it being terse.

Can anyone of so many of you who selected C explain the total change in the meaning of the altered sentence in the choice C

With choice C the sentece says that first part (recent election) impacts something in the secong part, that has happened far in the past, in the last century which is impossible!?

I also go with C. present perfect tense makes sense in this case.
