Hi everyone,
I gave my GMAT exam yesterday and got a score of 720 (Q51 V35) . Although not a great score but good enough to enable me apply to the premium colleges. I am yet to start a research on the institutes I will be finally applying for. I am just putting down my experience along the GMAT journey, as reading debriefs from people who wrote GMAT recently, who were in my shoes sometime back used to inspire me a lot.
I started my preps 2 months back, and impatient as I was, I took a date a month after, just to create enough pressure to make me sit for preps after a good break of 2.5 years from academics. But obviously things dint go the way I wanted. I use to get an hour or so to study everyday. I already had strong Quant. I always knew Quant will never be a concern. I scored Q50 on the first Gmat prep, which I gave 1st day of my preperation.
I will suggest no one to give the GMAT Prep before they are all done with the Course. They are the most accurate exams, and I foolishly wasted one of the tests. I scored badly on the verbal though. I scored 550 even with Q50 (I believe not every one can do that
). I always knew that its going to be hard to get to a decent score. English was something I was always afraid of. I always used to score border line marks in English since 1st standard. I was soo damn consistent with that 50% score. Never thought English will be so important .
After reading Mangattan SC and
OG to some extent, I gave the second GMAT Prep and got a 720. I watched
E-GMAT videos which were very productive sessions. Finally on the GMAT I scored a 720 as well. Will like to thank GMAT club,
E-GMAT and members of this group.
