So, I finished the OG 12e and a number of other prep materials (couple MGMAT individual guides and MGMAT advanced quant). I am now starting to go through the OG quant review - I'm on about question #80 on the problem solving and I've noticed that the questions are incredibly simple. I know the difficulty scales up but I glanced at the last few questions and they too seem pretty straightforward. I don't consider myself outstanding in math by any means, so I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time and if I should tackle some harder content instead?

Hi Bekerman,
I too find same. I have gone through individual sets of MGMAT. Questions are really easy. So now I am solving problems from Quantitative Aptitude for the CAT by Arum Sharma. Though this book is meant for Indian MBA exams, you can refer this. Questions are really tough. But I am not sure whether this book is available outside India. You may try.

There are some gems in the OG but most of the questions are of lower difficulty. Take them as an exercise in stamina building (do 50 questions at a time) and do them under timed conditions to train yourself to think faster.
For more challenging questions, check out our practice tests. You will certainly find them rewarding.

I believe that GMAT Quant and CAT quant is significantly different especially when it comes to topics covered. While this strategy could pay off, I would recommend you to make sure that you double check that the topics you are doing from books for CAT do appear in the GMAT. Check against the Manhattan guides for the range of topics covered.

All the best!

If I were you I'd straight away hit the GMAT Club Quant tests. They really helped me out a lot to make quick improvements in terms of timing and knowing my shortcuts on finger tips. They helped me bring my A game out for quant on test day!
