Jinesh, shahnandan,

This is slightly tougher SC...here is how we can eliminate choices...

>> Compares "in general cost of dirt roads" to "cost needed to maintain paved road". You need to compare "cost to maintain two roads".

B. dirt roads cost twice as much as to maintain as paved roads do.
>> Correctly compares "cost of maintaining dirt road" with "cost of maintaining paved road"

C. maintaining dirt roads costs twice as much as paved roads do.
>> Compares, "cost to maintain dirt road" with "in general cost of paved road"

D. maintaining dirt roads costs twice as much as it does for paved roads.
>> Here major problem is "it", "it" has no clear referent.

E. to maintain dirt roads costs twice as much as for paved roads.
>> Not parallel, "to ...as much as for...", also fails to compare maintainance of two roads.

The answer is D. The sentence is talking about the differences between maintaining dirt roads and paved roads. A says that dirt roads cost twice as much maintaing paved roads. B is awkwardly written, and unclear ("as much as to maintain as" is just plain wrong). C is unclear. D is the only that works.

Does anyone have the OA, because I think I'm the only one here who says D.

In OG Answer B is "dirt roads cost twice as much to maintain as

dirt roads cost twice as much as to maintain as paved roads do

phrase marked in blue makes lots of differnt. If there is no typo then answer is B, if not, then answer is D.

I think answer is wrong here which makes lots of different.
